Gifs have returned to Facebook.
Well, sort of.
More accurate to say, a version of gifs. Users can now embed a type of file to Facebook in much the same way that you would embed a video. Unlike conventional gif images, these ones aren’t automated Facebook makes you click to play.
Anyone who’s loaded a webpage clogged with gif files and experienced the inevitable nosedive in loading times will probably be thankful for this.
Gifs can be added in much the same way as a Youtube video and played in much the same fashion. Simply copy the embed code from any gif on the giphy website and paste it across a Facebook content bar.
